PA – Urgent Care – Locum Tenens – Wilmington, NC Area

Job description

An established urgent care organization in the Leland/Wilmington, NC area is seeking a Physician Assistant for locum tenens coverage. LOCAL candidates only – mileage reimbursed up to 60 miles round trip (30 miles each way). Provider must commit to full-time hours, including through the summer, supporting consistent coverage needs.

Provider must have experience treating adults and pediatrics (6 months and up), handle high-volume patient care, and embody a high-quality, community-focused care culture.

Setting: Urgent Care Center. Provider will serve as the sole provider in the center, with on-site support staff (Center Manager, MA, PSA) and an offsite supervising physician for the APP. Patient volume averages around 40 per day, with capacity up to 60.

Procedures include I&D, laceration repair, ear irrigation, and other minor procedures. EMR is Epic (training required and provided on set Wednesdays). Provider will go through a clinical screening, EMR training, and onboarding before first solo shift.

Requirements:
- Board Certification (NCCPA) required
- 12+ months of experience required (no new grads)
- NC license, NC DEA, and BLS required
- No call requirements
- Insurance provided by vendor
