Job Title: Physician Assistant – Wound Care (Locum Tenens)

Location: Batavia, OH (Urban/Metro Area)
Practice Setting: Outpatient Clinic
Contract Type: Locum Tenens – Temporary Coverage
Coverage Dates: 12/22/2025 – 03/31/2026
Reason for Coverage: Physician gap coverage between permanent hires
EMR: Epic

Shift & Schedule

Shift Hours: 08:00 – 16:30, Monday–Friday

Flexibility: Open to candidates available Monday, Thursday, Friday

Weekend Requirements: None

On Call Requirements: None

Patient & Workload Details

Average Patients per Day: 15–30

Patient Age Group: All ages (pediatric through geriatric)

Documentation in Epic EMR

Required Duties & Responsibilities

Treat skin reactions and prevent skin breakdown

Manage vascular ulcers, pressure ulcers, and diabetic ulcers

Provide comprehensive wound management, including topical therapies

Educate patients and caregivers on care techniques and ulcer prevention

Assess and treat draining wounds and fistulae

Implement preventative measures to reduce incidences of pressure and vascular ulcers

Instruct on proper wound dressing

Supervise hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) treatments

Types of Wounds Treated

Acute wounds (inflammatory, proliferative, and remodeling phases)

Surgical wounds (intentional or non-healing)

Traumatic wounds (scrapes, punctures, tears, burns)

Chronic ulcers (arterial, pressure, venous insufficiency, diabetic)

Chronic venous insufficiency, pilonidal cysts, gangrene, radiation injury, burns

Treatments & Procedures

Bioengineered skin applications

Sharp debridement

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT)

Incision and drainage

Negative pressure-assisted wound closure

Post-surgical incision management

Skin grafting

Unna boot application

Total contact casting

Requirements

BLS Certification – Required

ACLS Certification – Preferred (for HBOT)

Active Ohio Physician Assistant License – Required

Experience in wound care management required

Compensation & Reimbursement

Facility reimburses: flight, mileage (IRS standard rate), hotel, and rental car

Temporary privileging may allow faster start
